WSL Summer 2025 is simultaneously a handicapped and non-handicapped league. There will be two league winners; one from each division.
A single match will have two outcomes. A handicapped outcome and a non handicapped outcome. See handicap section below for details on how to manage the handicapped scoring.
Everyone plays everyone once over the season.
Each match is a best of 5 frames, scheduled for up to 3 hours. The match should not end until there is a winning player reaching 3 frame wins for both handicap and non-handicapped views of the match.
Players should ONLY submit the Handicapped outcome when submitting scores. The non handicapped outcome will be automatically calculated by the league admin.
Match results MUST be submitted on the Submit Scores page OR take a photo of the score sheet and send to Dave Daly.
Sundays are the primary league day, and all matches have been scheduled as such. Matches are scheduled for 10am and 1pm. Doors open at 9:30am. Note, there is free street parking on Sundays.
For most weeks, each player will play 1 match - either 10am or 1pm. However, there will be a few situations where a player is scheduled for 2 matches.
Players should regularly review the schedule before each Sunday to confirm their match times. Sometimes adjustments will be required to accommodate conflicts.
Make-ups are allowed. There will be some VERY limited availability on Sundays to accommodate make ups. Use clear communication between players and league admin if a schedule conflict requires you to request a make-up (or an advance schedule match). If a Sunday slot is not available, make up games will be required to be scheduled between players, and table time must be paid for.
Handicaps
Handicaps are set for the season start, based on known history of players.
Current handicaps can be found beside each player name on the League Standings page.
Calculating a handicap for a match:
The higher handicap player will receive starting score points from the lower handicap player.
The number of points assigned to the higher handicapped player will be calculated from the difference between the two handicaps.
For example, if Player A has a handicap of 5, and Player B has a handicap of 20, then Player B will start each frame with 15 points on the scoreboard (20-5 = 15).
To maintain fairness, handicaps may be reviewed and updated through the season, if a player performance significant exceeds or is below than calculated handicap.
Handicap change history will be maintained for reference on the Handicaps page.
Attendance
Lateness or no shows:
15+ mins late will forfeit the first frame.
30+ minutes late or no-show will forfeit the match.
As stated earlier, make up games are allowed but must provide advance notice to your opponent.
Players must pay for table time, if outside the Sunday or Wednesday league scheduled timeslots.
In the event of a snooker, there will be a maximum of 3 fouls (2 misses), meaning maximum of two “put-backs” allowed.
Player must make a valiant attempt to get out of all snookers, even the third attempt where no miss would be called.
After the third foul, the player who has not fouled has the option to play on, or to put the fouling opponent back in from the new position.
Where possible, seek out a third-party player or the tournament director to help arbitrate snookers and misses.
Snookers required stage:
The frame will be considered over when a player needs more than 3 snookers, regardless of how many balls are left on the table.
General rule questions:
If you are new to snooker or are unclear on a rule during play, don’t worry, before you take your shot, feel free to ask your opponent, other players or the tournament director and we can clarify. We are trying to learn and grow the game so this should be a fun and casual environment.
